This post is all about how to make blueberry puree for baby.
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Yields: 8 Ounces
Kitchen Items Needed:
- Food processor or blender
- Fine mesh sieve
- Medium mixing bowl
- Rubber spatula
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh blueberries, washed
- 1 tablespoon water
Directions:
- Place the blueberries in the food processor and blend.
- While blending, add the water.
- Pause to scrape down the sides of the processor, if need be. Blend until smooth.
- Place your sieve over the top of a medium bowl, and pour the blueberry blend into the sieve.
- Using a rubber spatula, press the blueberry mixture through the sieve until just the seeds and pulp remain.
- Stir the blueberry mixture before serving or storing.
Tips:
- Ensure you’re storing your homemade baby food correctly. For refrigeration, 4-ounce mason jars work well, and only keep them for up to 4-5 days to ensure freshness. For freezing, I recommend flattening sealed baggies to store the puree, which stays good for about 3 months. Alternatively, child-friendly, airtight containers work well for both storing in the fridge and freezer.

- Berry purees may appear runny but will thicken after cooling. Always give it a stir before serving to ensure consistency.
- Removing the pulp from strawberry and blueberry purees isn’t mandatory, but doing so can create a smoother texture that might be easier for your baby to adapt to.
- Feel free to substitute water with formula, breast milk, or juice to adjust the puree to your baby’s taste or nutritional needs.
- These puree recipes are versatile and suitable for many fruits. While some might require straining through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother texture, others, like banana puree, do not. Typically, I find that 1 tablespoon of water is just the right amount for any fruit I prepare.

Yup, that’s it! All you need is a few minutes and essentially one ingredient, and you have ready to go food for your little one. They will love the new flavors! Make meal time simple and fun with this beyond easy blueberry puree.
