Curious what is safe for gestational diabetes at McDonalds? We’ve got you covered with tons of options!

No judgement here – sometimes ya just gotta get some McD’s. Whether you’re out and about and need something quick and easy, or a craving strikes, we have plenty of options that have worked for real ladies with gestational diabetes!
Below you’ll find breakfast and lunch/dinner options. There are definitely similarities within the options, which should give you ideas on how to play around with the menu if you’re craving a little something different.
This post is all about gestational diabetes options at McDonald’s.
A few tips:
Often women skip half or the entire bun, limit fries, and/or load up on protein. It is common (unfortunately) for fries to spike women no matter how they are balanced out, so start small if you’re testing them out.
Also, you can easily check the carb counts for their entire menu here! Helpful for planning, but as I’m sure you’ve found, just because something is within the limits doesn’t automatically mean it won’t spike you. GD is tricky like that!
Walks and tons of water always help things!
Lastly, if you’re getting a sugar free drink and want to double check they gave you something actually diet or sugar free, you can test it with your blood sugar monitor! Dip a strip like you would your finger prick and it will be obvious if it’s full of sugar or not!
