These super simple salmon bites are an easy way to serve fish to your little ones!

baby led weaning recipe Simple Salmon Bites

My son can be hit or miss when it comes to salmon, so I wanted to try a simple recipe to see if that could become a staple for us. Me and my husband like it simple anyways, so it would be great if our son does too!

At first he did not like them. He gave it a try and spit it out and shook his head. However the next day I tried again with ketchup (lol) and he ATE IT UP! He loved it! I’ll take that as a win.

BABY LED WEANING

This would be a great recipe to serve babies starting at 6 months, once they’ve been safely introduced to the allergen, or as a way to introduce them to it.

For information on how to safely serve foods to babies depending on their age (plus so much more), I recommend Solid Starts. The app is free and has tons of information!

ALLERGENS

This recipe has salmon, which is a finned fish.

STORAGE

I stored these in the fridge for 2 days, then he finished it. I reheated in our toaster oven.

SUBSTITUTES & ADD INS

You can sub in any seasoning you’d like! Be mindful of sodium if your baby is under 1.

Simple Salmon Bites

A very easy recipe to serve salmon to your little one.
Print Recipe Pin Recipe
Prep Time:5 minutes mins
Cook Time:10 minutes mins
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 1 small salmon filet cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • Old bay to taste (or a salt free seasoning of your choosing)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cut your salmon into approximately 1 inch by 1 inch pieces and drizzle with olive oil or melted butter.
  • Season with your seasoning of choice (we did old bay, but use whatever your baby prefers!)
  • Arrange the salmon pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Air fry the salmon for 5-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon pieces. Once cooked, the salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork.
  • When cooked through, remove the salmon from the air fryer and let cool slightly.
  • Serve and enjoy!

I hope this is a hit with your little one! Don’t forget the ketchup 🙃
