This strawberry chia jam is insanely simple to make and a great sugar free option for baby!
This “recipe” is so simple, calling it a recipe truly feels too generous! But it’s a great staple to keep in your fridge for your little ones to add some sugar free sweetness to their foods. Great to stir into yogurts, make pb&js, spread onto a waffle, you name it! Takes no time at all to make, although it does need time to sit and thicken up. But the actual work part is really quick on your end!
BABY LED WEANING
This would be a great recipe to serve babies starting at 6 months, once they’ve been safely introduced to the allergens in the muffins. For younger babies, typically it’s best to serve bigger pieces since those are easier for them to hold. Once they develop the pincer grasp (pointer and thumb pinching together), then you can start to give them smaller pieces.
For information on how to safely serve foods to babies depending on their age (plus so much more), I recommend Solid Starts. The app is free and has tons of information!
ALLERGENS
This recipe is free from all the common allergens!
STORAGE
Store this in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
SUBSTITUTES & ADD INS
You can add in seasonings, like cinnamon or clove, if you like. You can also sub in other fruits, or do a mixture. I used frozen fruit here, but fresh will work too.
TOOLS USED/RECOMMENDED
Storage jar – I use leftover jars with these lids that fit on all my jars. Better than mason jar lids imo since they go right in the dishwasher!
