If you’re looking for 6 month old baby led weaning meal ideas, I’m sharing what my son actually ate below to give you plenty of inspiration!

We’ve been doing baby led weaning for just over 2 months now and it’s been a BLAST. Truly, I love it. He has taken to it so so well, and looooooves food. We started right around 6 months, and he ramped up very very quickly. This post goes into all the details of Our Experience with Baby Led Weaning at 6 Months if you want to read more about that.
At 6 months we started with individual foods and one meal a day, and very quickly moved onto 3 meals a day with 2-3 foods at each meal. The boys got an appetite!
The Solid Starts app was my resource on how to prepare foods safely for his age. It’s $10 for the year and it was my savior in those early weeks. SO so so helpful!!!
All meals were served with water in his honey bear cup which taught him to drink from a straw in just 2 days!!

He’s a look into the actual meals he ate while he was 6 months:

This was a very early one when we were still introducing things one at a time! I steamed it and kept some whole (be sure to cut length wise so the stalk is no longer round) and some I mashed down. He looooove the whole florets, they’ve since become a regular for him. A favorite for sure! I typically boil them now just because our steamer is huge and annoying to get out 😂
This is a video I made on how I prepared it if you’d like more of a tutorial on it!

This was sautéed and chopped spinach, roasted Japanese sweet potato fries, and chicken thighs.

A black bean and cheese quesadilla on corn tortillas with raspberries and roasted zucchini (another fave!)

Boiled broccoli, raspberries, and pizza toast! Pizza toast is 1 piece of Ezekiel bread, no salt/sugar added tomato sauce, Italian seasoning blend (no salt), and some shredded mozzarella.

Roasted zucchini, chicken premade meatballs, and brown rice pasta (meatballs+pasta from Trader Joe’s)

Made some banana oat pancakes that were a hit! I blended 2 eggs, 4 servings baby oatmeal (we used this one), 1 banana, sprinkle of cinnamon, tsp baking powder. Here’s a video!
I hope this gives you a few 6 month old baby led weaning meal ideas to try, and shows you a realistic look at 6 months old meals! Happy feeding!
