This is seriously the best infant straw cup!! It taught my son how to drink from a straw in just two DAYS!

For some reason, I just figured my son would automatically know how to drink through a straw. Breastfeeding can’t be all that different right?! WRONG.
I bought a very cute little cup, that can be a straw cup or an open cup, and was quickly humbled by how my son did not take to the straw drinking.
I had heard about the honey bear cup, but to be honest, I thought it was just popular for being cute! Wrong again.

The Best Infant Straw Cup!!
This cutie little honey bear cup is the secret to teaching your baby how to drink through a straw. I tried with our other cup for days to no avail. I read about the gerbil method, which is when you plug the straw to trap water, bring the other end of the straw to baby’s mouth, and release your finger. My son still wasn’t getting it.
I had heard about the honey bear cup, but felt skeptical it truly was the best infant straw cup. I figured I had nothing to lose.
BOOM. My son learned how to drink through a straw in 2 days.

How it works is you can squeeze the bear to push the water up. Doing so, while the straw is in baby’s mouth, will teach them to close their lips around the straw.
It took a few squeezes, but soon my son was learning to purse his lips around the straw rather than just chew on the straw when it was in his mouth. From there, he started to automatically purse his lips when I would place the straw in his mouth. Then I started to squeeze the water to get it started, and he would then take it over and start sucking. And then, he was sucking up the water all on his own! These progressions happened over a 2 day period and now he drinks easily from a straw NO problem!!
So cool how quickly he learned!
Plus, they’re affordable and dishwasher safe. Only con is it can be hard to get the straw through the hole the first time.
The honey bear straw cup is definitely worth it! Grab yours and watch the magic happen with your little one.
