This is everything I keep stocked at home to prepare for cold and flu season with my toddler!
SO FAR, we’ve been pretty lucky with cold & flu season. Last year, my son was exclusively breastfeeding, so when a cold made it through our house it pretty much skipped him. This year, he’s had a few super mild illnesses, but nothing too bed yet.
Either way, this is everything I keep stocked so I can be ready to go when illness strikes. Whether it’s cold and flu season, or just anytime of year, I make sure I have all of the above in case they’re needed/to help give his immune system a little boost!
1. Mary Ruth’s Organics Elderberry Drops
We started using this supplement this cold & flu season and will continue to going forward! Anything we can do to help boost our immune system sounds good to me. Plus, my son loves it 😂 I have the adult version for myself. This brand is so great because alllll of their products are clean, sugar free, organic, etc. Really high quality!
The code MROMESSYBUN will get you 20% off ANY PRODUCT on their website or Amazon!
2. Mary Ruth’s Organics Vitamin C Drops
Another supplement to help boost immunity!
The code MROMESSYBUN will get you 20% off ANY PRODUCT on their website or Amazon!
3. Frida Baby Snot Sucker
I know this product sounds gross, but man it is effective!! And don’t worry, there is NO chance of you actually inhaling any snot because there is a little filter in place that blocks it. They have electric ones, but I like how with this I can control the pressure a bit more. Idk something about the electric ones scare me! So I’d rather do this.
4. Boogie Micro-Mist Saline Inhaler
Saline is great for moistening noses and throats when sick, and this inhaler makes it super easy to use with your toddler!
5. Hyland’s Baby Mucus and Cold Relief
I recently thought my son was coming down with a cold so I grabbed this. It ended up being just a quick 24 hour minor bug, but I’m glad to have this stocked in case we need it going forward (or when we’ll need it, because I just know some sickness is always lurking around the corner this time of year!) This one is safe for 6 months and up.
6. Frida Baby 3-in-1 Thermometer
I never find the forehead thermometers to be accurate, so I like that this can be under the arm, under the tongue, or rectal to get an accurate reading.
7. Children’s Acetaminophen
We keep tylenol & motrin stocked year round for teething, feeling better after shots, sickness, you name it. Always good to keep some toddler friendly pain relievers on hand for when you need them! I go for the dye free generic brands when I can, but I’ve heard good things about the brand Genexa!
8. Canopy Humidifier
Humidifiers are great for keeping noses and throats from getting dry in the winter, or during a cold! This brand’s humidifiers are dishwasher safe which is SUCH a game changer imo!
9. Boogie Saline Wipes
These saline wipes are the BEST! Super super gentle on little noses, and never have left my son’s nose raw or red from usage. We allllways have these in the house (plus tons of backup packs!)
10. Children’s Motrin
The other pain reliever we keep on hand!
11. Boogie Antibacterial Hand Wipes
A diaper bag essential all year round, but especially during cold and flu season. Clean those hands after you’ve been out!!
