The Best and Most Spacious Nursery Dresser You Need For Baby

If you need a recommendation for your nursery dresser, here is the one we went with and why!

I knew pretty much right away with nursery dresser we would go with. It’s a dresser I had previously, and knew how high quality it was as well as how spacious it was! All I’ve done is organize my baby’s clothes so far in it and I’m already in love and feel so good about this decision.

This post is all about the best nursery dresser that you need for your baby’s room!

We went with the classic and quite popular Ikea Hemnes dresser for our nursery. It features 8 drawers, 4 bigger ones and 4 smaller ones across the top row.

I had this dresser growing up and absolutely loved it. It is SO spacious!

It comes in white, like we got, as well as gray and black-brown. My husband put it together and said it wasn’t too hard, just tedious with all of the drawers you have to assemble.

I have already filled it up, and have a pretty good idea of how I’ll organize it.

Nursery Dresser Organization

Across the top in the smaller drawers I have:

• Newborn clothes, socks + mittens, and hats
• Burp clothes and bibs
• Swaddles, a nursing cover, and our wrap carrier
• Baby necessities and medicine (shusher, pacis, etc.)

In the larger drawers I have just clothes, organized by size and what they are. For example, one drawer has all of size 0-3 months and I used divers to section it up into three section. One has onesies, one has footie pajamas (are those called onesies? or are those bodysuits?), and one has pants and miscellaneous.

I used these removable labels to write down what goes where.

We might need to change this system when he gets here and we really put the nursery dresser to use, but for now I think it’s a pretty good start!

Changing Pad for Dresser

If you read my post on Do You Need a Changing Table? then you know how I feel about getting a changing table specific piece of furniture. I’m all about getting a dresser and a changing pad for dresser that goes on top! That way, once you’re done with all of the changing diaper years, you can easily remove the pad and have a fully functional regular dresser.

We got this Skip Hop Changing Pad. I like that is it wipeable (that is SO KEY in a changing pad – trust me. If you get one that needs a cover you will be changing that cover all too often.) Obviously haven’t used it yet, but so far seems like it will do the trick!

Also grabbed this Ubbi wipes container that has a weight in it to keep the wipes inside. LOVE that. I used to use a wipes container where the wipes weren’t weighted at all, and it would get really tricky to get the wipes out, especially in messy situations where you might not have two hands (one to hold the wipe container down while you grab the wipe with the other.) Truuuuuust me on this.

It also has a seal to keep the wipes moist and fresh!

I’m using some of these kind of rope bins on top to store diapers, diaper rash cream, and other kinds of products along those lines.

All in all, I am a huge fan of this nursery dresser so far. It’s super spacious, feels really high quality, and I think we will get a ton of use out of it for years to come. Will update as we use it when baby is here, but definitely recommend so far!
