If you’re scouring the internet for possible 5 dpo symptoms leading to bfp, look no further because that’s exactly what I’m sharing!

Obsessively searching the internet for 5 dpo symptoms leading to bfp like I was during my two week wait? I totally get it. I was deep down the reddit and internet rabbit hole seeing what various women experienced leading up to their positive pregnancy test! Sharing below so you have another women’s experience to read through!
This post is all about 5 DPO symptoms leading to BFP.
At 5 DPO this started to get a little real, particularly on the evening of 5 DPO.
I’ve also shared my other two week wait symptoms from other DPOs, which can be found here if you’d like to give those a read: 2 dpo symptoms, 4 dpo symptoms, 6 dpo symptoms, and 7 dpo symptoms.
Getting through 5 DPO felt like a major win for me because that felt like the longest stretch of my two week wait. Just work and not much else going on. 5 DPO was a Thursday, and that night we were heading to my mother in law’s house for a fun weekend, which I knew would be a very welcome distraction.
Time during your tww moves at a snails pace!
Anyways, we were getting the house ready to leave for the weekend and I was doing dishes. I remember very clearly feeling some light back pain, on my right side, and some very faint cramps starting, also just on the right. I typically didn’t really get cramps leading up to my period, and if I did, they didn’t feel like this and they weren’t just on one side.
I noticed it, but mostly brushed it off. Looking back now, I’m almost positive that was implantation starting to happen because I got my first positive pregnancy test 8 dpo!
On 6 DPO, the back pain subsided but cramps remained. I also started to noticed I was a lot veinier! Particularly on my upper thighs and lower stomach. 7 DPO the veins became more intense, and I found them on my chest. Finally, 8 dpo, and I got my beautiful first positive pregnancy test.
And here we are, a little less than a year later, with our sweet baby boy who is turning 3 months old today!
I always want to take a moment to clarify that I don’t share this with the intention to create false hope whatsoever. I know the two week wait and trying to conceive can look different for everyone. When I was in my tww, it brought me comfort and distraction to read through what other women experienced, even if it turned out to just be symptom spotting. It helps to feel like you’re not alone through such a vulnerable time! I hope me sharing that can do that for you too.
My TTC Essentials
1. Clearblue Ovulation Tests
Although they are a bit pricier than other ovulation tests out there, I did really enjoy these. Clear results with nothing left to interpret or lines to decipher. Anything that makes TTC a bit less stressful is worth it to me!
2. bird & Be Pregnancy Tests

These were the pregnancy tests that gave me my very first positive line at 8DPO. Super sensitive and easy to use and to read! Absolutely recommend and would use again.
The code MESSYBUN10 will give you 10% off your first order!
3. Preseed fertility lubricant
We used the pre seed fertility lubricant 2 out of the 3 times we tried for baby. Of course I can’t know for sure that this is what made the difference for us, but it doesn’t hurt to add it into the mix in case it does! I would definitely use it again whenever we end up trying for baby #2.
